Kent Prep takes test preparation very seriously. In addition to our practice tests, we offer professional counseling services for both students and parents. We believe what happens outside the classroom is just as crucial as what happens in the classrooms. Kent Prep’s counselors help encourage parental involvement and help customize personal academic career path to each individual.

College Application (12th Grade)

Preparing for the SAT is an excellent way to get into good position for college. However, the college admissions process involves a lot more than just scores. Our college application counseling services guide students through each step of the application process including filling out application forms (the Common Application and separate college-supplement applications), brainstorming and proofreading personal essays with short response questions and also providing interview protocol (upon request).

College Financial Aid

For many students, applying for financial aid is almost just as important as applying for admission. We provide professional financial aid counselors that cater to the students’ circumstances to help parents determine the best financial option for their child with their tuition. This service also helps students and parents fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) from start to finish. Our counselors will help to optimize financial gain from loans (private and federal), grants (Pell and TAP), and work-study options.

By early high school years, students can start exploring subject areas that will determine their unique traits to apply to prestigious programs at various universities. This early preparation will give them the competitive edge on matriculating to the college of their choices. Our individualized consulting services to the students and families, backed up by our tract of knowledge and expertise, will measure your performances and motivate students to look further for better opportunities and simplify their college admissions process.

Specialized High School and Private High School Preparation

This guidance service is for students and parents preparing to apply to specialized high schools in New York City. Our students have gotten accepted into the most renowned high schools, such as Stuyvesant and Hunter, for the past two decades. Our experienced counselors guide students and parents through every step of the high school admissions process to ensure that our students will be fully prepared for the entrance exams.

Elementary Enrichment

This counseling service is offered to younger students and their parents. We offer parents information and guidance about the competitive educational programs in the U.S. including the highly-coveted Gifted and Talented Program.
