PSAT | Regents for
8th – 10th Graders
Early preparation is key! By studying for admissions exams and thinking about college choices earlier, you have many more options and interventions open to you. For instance, if your verbal score is weak, you have many more semesters to improve on it as a Freshman and Sophomore, as opposed to waiting until Junior or Senior year to fix it. Unfortunately, no matter how hard you work and how hands-on our instructors are, your scores can only increase so much in a short amount of time instead of years of practice.
By preparing early, you will also improve your chances of scoring well on the PSAT/NMSQT. The PSAT can be treated like a trial run for the SAT and even the ACT, but it’s more than just that. PSAT scores are used to award scholarships to National Merit Scholars.

“With so many academies in New York, my daughter had gone to some other institutes before we came to know Kent. After my daughter got accepted into Stuyvesant High School with Kent, I have enrolled my son only to Kent. We found that it was the best place to go in the whole of Queens and Long Island. Both my children got excellent educations; they both did extremely well on the SAT.”
PRADEEP T., FATHER OF CHILDREN AT HARVARD UNIVERSITY, CAMBRIDGE AND STUYVESANT H.S., NEW YORK
“Kent is all-around the best test prep school in the city. The atmosphere is a remarkable blend: high-powered and nurturing, demanding, and fun. The teachers are role models of scholarly excellence, hard work, high expectations, and kindness. Kent’s population is a diverse cross-section of the best, brightest kids in the New York area. I have taught at Kent for many years, and I continue to find the school a source of great pleasures and great rewards. You will, too.”
TOM F., YALE UNIVERSITY, ENGLISH TEACHER AT SCARSDALE H.S. NEW YORK
